About Alyson Redman
Alyson Redman is licensed by the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (APRN). She obtained her bachelor’s and master’s in nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as both a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). Alyson has lived in the Kerrville area since 1998 where she worked first in nursing, then as a family nurse practitioner. Her experience in family practice demonstrated gaps between medical and psychiatric care, and how the mind/body connection is often ignored. This encouraged her to pursue a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner post master’s certificate from Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, Kentucky. She is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Nursing Program at Frontier Nursing University. Her goal is to develop a practice that integrates caring for the patient as a whole, including their physical and mental well-being. Her practice includes preventative and wellness exams, sick visits, management of chronic health conditions, as well as treatment and evaluation of mental health and neurological problems.
